lyrics

Thought I found an easy answer, should have known to take a chance I
might win quickly in the front stretch, but that's far from retiring early.
So it seems the strings attached will give me pause enough to test my
willingness to fly out further. Am I free? Or just a server?

Here right now I choose my future, can't act hastily.
There will not be second chances, must think carefully.

I could leave my cube behind and lead a life of flying wonder!
Aiding others, selfless helping, not employees, sisters, brothers!
How would that be any different from the tether in an office?
Bright illusion, bigger cages, off one leash tied to another?

(solos)

Here right now I choose my future, can't act hastily.
There will not be second chances, must think carefully.

All my life I've dreamed of being rich and famous, loving life and
never worried for the future, never dread the coming morning.
Slowly, surely, every day though, I move only further downward.
When did I, the happy, bright child, turn into this destitute soul?

Was this simply random fortune? Or at last has fate forgiven?
Glowing panel, awaiting answer Still observer, neutral party.
Thoughts are rushing, mind sensations, heart rate rising, time elapsing.
Here I'll make my grand decision, living always, consequences!

Here right now I choose my future, must act wisely.
There will not be second chances, so much pressure!

Is there such a ways as perfect? Course of action, pure and flawless?
Will I always seek the daydream? Can I truly find contentment?

about

James Wyatt Houston, Texas

I now work alone, puttering with what I have and record to computer. I love writing but have a hard time actually recording. It's a fun process, even if no one really hears these songs.
